The Professorship of Latin American History in a Global Perspective at the KU Faculty of History and Social Sciences invites applications for a part-time position (75%) as
to be filled by September 15, 2026, initially for a limited period of 3 years with the envisaged option of an extension. The place of work shall be Eichstätt. Provided that the requirements are met, remuneration in the private-law employment relationship will be according to the pay grade E 13 TV-L. This is an attractive position with the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree.
Your tasks
Coordination of Master’s degree program in Conflict, Memory and Peace
- all coordination tasks related to the Master’s program in “Conflict, Memory, and Peace”
- Support for students and communication with the lecturers involved in the program
- Maintaining contact with our partner university in Colombia
- Supporting the administration in program development tasks
- Teaching worth 2.5 semester hours per week (SWS)
Coordination of Bachelor’s degree program in Latin American Studies
- Academic administrative and organizational tasks related to the coordination of the Bachelor's program in Latin American Studies
- Communication with partner universities regarding the internationalization of the degree program
- Teaching worth 1.25 semester hours per week (SWS)
Your profile
Coordination of Master’s degree program in Conflict, Memory and Peace
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) or doctoral degree with a focus on social sciences (preferably sociology)
- Excellent knowledge of Spanish, English, and German
- Knowledge of Latin American university cultures
- Knowledge of relevant research on Latin America
- Willingness to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration
- Organizational skills and the ability to work independently
- Ability to work in a team
Coordination of Bachelor’s degree program in Latin American Studies
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in the humanities or social sciences, completed with above-average grades
- Very good knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese; very good knowledge of English
- Relevant interest in and (scientific) knowledge of Latin America
- Willingness to travel for work both domestically and internationally
- Ability to self-motivate, openness for interdisciplinary work as well as high communicative competence and ability to work in a team
