Im Rahmen des DFG-Graduiertenkollegs „Practicing Place: Soziokulturelle Praktiken und epistemische Konfigurationen“ ist zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt eine Vollzeitstelle (100%) als

wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter (Postdoc) (m/w/d)

befristet bis zum 31. März 2030 zu besetzen. Dienstort ist Eichstätt. Die Bezahlung erfolgt im Rahmen des privatrechtlichen Arbeitsverhältnisses bei gegebenen tariflichen Voraussetzungen nach Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L.

Eine Teilung der Stelle in zwei Teilzeitstellen (50%) ist unter bestimmten Voraussetzungen möglich.

Das Kolleg widmet sich der interdisziplinären Reflexion der Konzepte Ort und Verortung, denn gerade im Kontext zunehmender globaler Interdependenzen und grenzenlos gewordener medialer Kommunikation gewinnen Orte und Prozesse der (Neu-)Verortung sozial, kulturell und politisch an Brisanz. Im Kontext geopolitischer Konfrontationen, ökologischer Herausforderungen und zunehmender gesellschaftlicher Polarisierungen verschärft sich auf den vielfältigen Ebenen des Politischen und Öffentlichen die Konfliktualität von practicings of place. In der zweiten Bewilligungsperiode fokussiert das Forschungsprogramm des Kollegs entsprechend Orte und Verortungsprozesse als zentrale Figurationen von Konflikt.

Das Kolleg ist als strukturierte Graduiertenausbildung für internationale Promovierende konzipiert, die sich in einem kompetitiven Auswahlverfahren durch ihr fachliches Profil und ein herausragendes, interdisziplinär anschlussfähiges und im zeitlichen Rahmen der Förderung realisierbares Forschungskonzept auszeichnen. Zur Koordinierung der wissenschaftlichen Arbeit des Kollegs und insbesondere zur Unterstützung der Promotionsprojekte sowie der konzeptionellen Weiterentwicklung des Forschungsprogramms wird eine Postdoktorandenstelle eingerichtet.

Ihre Aufgaben

  • Umsetzung eines eigenen, im Hinblick auf die Fragestellungen und das Forschungsprogramm des Kollegs relevanten Forschungsprojektes
  • Unterstützung der betreuenden Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler im Kolleg bei der interdisziplinär-konzeptionellen wissenschaftlichen Koordinierung und organisatorische Mitgestaltung des Kollegprogramms
  • Ko-Betreuung einzelner Promotionsvorhaben (optional)
  • Impulse für die Weiterentwicklung des Forschungsprogramms des Kollegs z.B. durch Beiträge zur kritischen Theoriebildung, konzeptionelle Ideen sowie Initiativen für Konferen-zen, Workshops und Vortragsveranstaltungen
  • Beratung und Unterstützung der Doktorandinnen und Doktoranden bei der eigenständigen Organisation interdisziplinärer wissenschaftlicher Arbeitsgruppen, Feldforschung, Forschungsaufenthalten, Workshops etc.
  • Konzeption und inhaltliche Koordination gemeinsamer wissenschaftlicher Publikationsvorhaben
  • Einführung und Monitoring von Maßnahmen zur Sicherung guter wissenschaftlicher Praxis unter besonderer Berücksichtigung des Umgangs mit erzielten Forschungsdaten und -ergebnissen
  • redaktionelle Koordination der Presse- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit im Kolleg (Beiträge zur Website, zum Podcast und zur Social Media Präsenz des Kollegs)

Ihr Profil

  • ein sehr gut abgeschlossenes wissenschaftliches Hochschulstudium und eine exzellente, abgeschlossene Promotion, vorzugsweise in einem der das Kolleg tragenden Fächer (siehe dazu die unten genannte Website), oder in einer einschlägigen benachbarten sozial-, kultur- oder geisteswissenschaftlichen Disziplin
  • einschlägige internationale Publikationserfahrungen
  • ausgewiesene Theorie- und Methodenkenntnisse in der (interdisziplinären) sozial- und kulturwissenschaftlichen Orts- und Raumforschung
  • Offenheit für interdisziplinäres Arbeiten sowie hohe kommunikative Kompetenz und Teamfähigkeit
  • Fähigkeit zur Koordinierung und Anleitung wissenschaftlicher Arbeitsgruppen
  • sehr gute EDV- und insbesondere Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift.

As part of the DFG Research Training Group "Practicing Place: Sociocultural Practices and Epistemic Configurations", the KU invites applications for a full-time position (100%) as

wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter (Postdoc) (m/w/d)

to be filled by the earliest possible starting date for a limited period from until March 31, 2030. The place of work shall be Eichstätt. The successful candidate will be employed in a private-law employment relationship, in which case remuneration will be according to pay grade E 13 TV-L provided that the requirements are met.

It is possible to split the position in two part-time positions (50%) under certain conditions.

The research group is dedicated to the interdisciplinary reflection of the concepts of ‘place’ and ‘placing’, as especially in the context of increasing global interrelations and media communication that has become borderless, places and processes of (re)placing shift to the center of social, cultural and political attention. In the context of geopolitical confrontations, ecological challenges and increasing social polarization, the conflictuality of practicings of place is intensifying at the various levels of the political and public spheres. In the second approval period, the program of the research group focuses accordingly on places and localization processes as central figurations of conflict.

The research training group is designed as a structured graduate training program for international doctoral candidates who have distinguished themselves in a competitive selection process through their professional profile and an outstanding research concept that is compatible across disciplines and can be realized within the time frame of the funding. A postdoctoral position will be established to coordinate the academic work of the research group and, in particular, to support the doctoral projects and the conceptual development of the research program.

Your tasks

  • Implementation of an own research project relevant to the questions and the research program of the research training group
  • Support of the researchers in the training group in their interdisciplinary and conceptional coordination and organizational design of the group’s program
  • Cosupervision of individual doctoral projects (optional)
  • Impulses for the further development of the research program of the research training group, e.g. through contributions to critical theory formation, conceptual ideas as well as initiatives for conferences, workshops and presentation events
  • Advice and support for the doctoral candidates in the independent organization of interdisciplinary scientific working groups, field research or research stays, workshops, etc.
  • Conceptualization and content coordination of joint scientific publication projects
  • Introduction and monitoring of measures to ensure good scientific practice with special consideration of the handling of achieved research data and results
  • Editorial coordination of press and public relations work at the research training group (contributions to the website, podcast and the group’s social media presence).

Your profile

  • A very good completed academic university degree and an excellent, completed doctorate preferably in one of the subjects of the research training group or in a relevant neighboring field of social sciences, cultural studies or the humanities (please see below website for details),
  • Relevant international publication experience
  • Proven theoretical and methodological knowledge in (interdisciplinary) social and cultural-scientific research on place and space
  • Openness for interdisciplinary work as well as high communicative skills and ability to work in a team
  • Ability to coordinate and guide scientific working groups,
  • Very good computer skills and written and spoken English language proficiency in particular
